We Will Forever Sing!

You can make a statement

On a patriotic day

Bring us panic

Make us frequently afraid

Yet you can never

Never eradicate the brave!

Simply put,

This is the American way!

You can cause us endless anxiety and dread

Cause disbelief widespread

And yet the American dream will never be unsaid

It will never be dead

You can cause us to fight

Thicken the political divide

Give us sleepless nights

Make us turn away from the light

Your malicious plight

You can never!

Never stop us with this spite

When we come together

We unite!

You can viciously gun us down

Lifelessly falling to the ground

Set off a bomb

In a crowd

You can bring us endless tears

Make us face

Our worst nightmares 

Do the unthinkable

And make our young bleed

The blood in our flag

We'll wring

You can make our nation grieve

Plunging to our knees

Our hearts heavy

Our eyes sting

Begging!

Yelling!

Pleading!

“God please!”

And yet,

The togetherness

A common bond

We'll bring

Our collective empathy

We'll loudly ring!

Our shared liberty

We'll proudly cling and scream!

“This is more than just a dream!”

Love for our fellow citizens

We'll let it gleam!

We resolve to deem!

The United States of America

We will forever sing!
